Fixed: Herolab 5.0 4e Data File update breaks your install

Until somebody can come up with a fix to Daphne Pfister's add-on to support the 5.0 data file changes, I do not recommend updating to the 5.0 data files.

You can update Herolab itself to 5.0, just not the data files.

Sooooo what if I did not see this until after I have done the update and now my 4E wont open is there anything I can do or just have to wait until a fix happens?

Thanks a Million Daphne!  I can confirm that her patch fixes HL... and I've put it up as a package if you use the secondary sites feature of HL to pull from me, instead of downloading from here.

Despite installing the patch, my copy of HL is still 'broken'

Much of the data I would expect to see (Class Features and the like) are completely absent from my program.

This causes much grief for me, as various tabs will be highlighted red (despite legit choices) simply because the program doesn't have all the data necessary to realise that everything is above board.

I'm not sure if it matters, but I don't have a DDI account. Is this necessary to obtain the missing data? And if so, is there any other way I can get it?

Yes,

You must have a DDI account and run the downloader to get the data.   Once you have the data, the patches and add-ons we've done here will work, without the downloader running against a DDI account, not much of anything about HL 4e will work.
