How to clean start HL 4E files

Hello everyone,
This weekend I was visiting with a friend so I was using my ASUS Taichi, and well it was problematic to say the least. I could nt get to this site for updates until the very last night then I could not get the updates to work properly. So I would Like to just clean the 4E files out and start fresh with a 4E file load and dont know which files I should download or can find and the order of loading them.

So I thought that I would start this thread to help everyone by getting the help myself.

So if one of the really tech peoples could say how to clean out or fresh start the files then how to reload what we need I would be very happy to test it and then report back with time and how it all worked.

You should be able to delete the 4e directory and just download the update.

The problem with the website was that a DDOS attack was hitting my Webhost's entire site, they fought to get it clamped down.  But it took a while to kill it off... during which the site was down.
