Is DDI Downloader Still Required

Wasn't sure where else to go with this.  After spending nearly 24 hours of the downloader throwing up !!! I finally stopped the download.  I am seeing the downloader is not needed any more.  Does this mean that all of the info I have access to as a DDI subscriber is already included, or do I need to try to download that mess again?
