Herolab 4e Bugs / Re: Armor at Paragon and above
February 02, 2017, 07:15:42 PM
Well, crap. We just hit this in our campaign, and I was really hoping that I could find a decent way to address this.

No offense to dracusmage, but at this point I think we're happier tossing a Permanent Adjustment to make up the difference on the characters it affects.

Mind you, I haven't come up with anything better.

I don't think there's anything explicit implemented for Twofold Pact. Really, I'm not sure there's anything implemented that requires something to be activated or not; you're apparently supposed to eyeball it or use Adjustments (would be easier if there was an All Attacks adjustment, but I digress).

Would it work if you just noted what your two Pacts are on the Personal Tab and switched between them on the Class Tab depending on which was active?

Looking at thing_adjustments.user, I see that Counter and Ongoing Damage have the line, right before the first tag group line, of
<fieldval field="adjMaximum" value="99"/>

and if I add that to the Derived Trait adjustment it overrides the +9 maximum.

I have to admit, I've been tracking Temporary Hit Points on my Paladin using a Counter (positioned at the top of my Adjustments list) rather than a Derived Trait Adjustment. Then again, since the character is a Dragonborn I often don't use Virtue until after he's Bloodied, so tracking his real and Temporary HP separately seemed like the proper way to go.

I just looked at my 4e character and the Resist 5 Necrotic he gets from his Deathsteel Plate is displayed under Feats & Features in the Powers panel and on the Specials Tab. It's also in Resistances (underneath Savings Throws) on the character sheet.

There are some links and videos on using the Hero Lab Editor in the program itself and on the Hero Lab forums, but the little bit of work I've done (mostly in Pathfinder) I mostly did by looking at how similar stuff worked and going from there.

We started a 4e campaign recently using the 30-Sep-2015 files from the regular Hero Lab download source, and they do have Themes and Backgrounds.

Neither Paragon nor I got any response to posts here or in the 4e section in the Hero Lab forums, so I don't know if Cryptoknight is doing anything with 4e any more. Paragon's done some bug fixes for our local game as issues with our particular PCs have come up.

If you do decide to work on the 4e files, do please post on the Hero Lab 4e forum as well, we don't check here nearly as often.

If you buy the Authoring Kit Data Package it will allow you to run the 4th Edition Community Files (as well as giving you access to the core Savage Worlds rules).

Herolab 4e Bugs / Moteborn Theme Bug
January 10, 2016, 01:04:02 PM
The starting features for the Moteborn Theme are not being bootstrapped, which stops any of the other adjustments from executing.
