Yes, it's a bug, came up around a year ago.

http://hl4e.cryptoknight.org/index.php?topic=304.0

Apparently it stumped the most accomplished 4e programmers I know of (neither of which is still working on HL 4e stuff, as far as I know).

Does that mean it's not doing anything at the moment?
At least some of the items that grant a particular resistance when equipped do work correctly. On the other hand, the Potion of Resistance, which can come in any of the damage types, does not have any way to show which type it is (really it should probably be replaced with one of each type).

General Discussion / Re: Total Newb... but...

Okay, I should remember to check this forum more often. Anyway, my group has been using Hero Lab for D&D 4e for about two years now, so hopefully I can be of some help.

Yes, the 4e files are built in the Authoring Kit, and the Editor can be used to add/fix things.

It's been a while since the 4e files got much in the way of high-end support (the dreaded Real Life seems to have eaten DracusMage, as is the way of things), but I know there are a few of us out there working on them; the only problem is that there's no one to merge all the work into the "official" files.  :(

My group has done bug fixes, mostly as we have come across them, but haven't added much in the way of missing material (except for adding the Zeitgeist Player's Guide material, because that's our current 4e campaign). I know that there's still a lot of stuff that could be done, but it's working well enough for us to use.

If you would like to add our work to the latest download, I put up a zip of our changes at https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ao-luxR6zpeDiHQjodb1oeEw6FPO (no promises, we do our best ;) ). To install you just copy the files in the archive to the Hero Lab 4e user data directory, overwriting the default versions (of course, if you've already edited any of the default files, this will overwrite them as well, so be careful).

As far as Hero Lab Editor resources go, this is my link collection:

Hey, Mark. Currently there isn't anyone who is maintaining the central files, but since we've done some work on them for our local 4e group I got curious and took a look, and it turned out to be a pretty simple error. I think you will find that it works for the Double Scimitar and the Falchion, just not the Scimitar; for some reason, there's an incorrect term in the Eval Script. Have you used the Editor? It's an easy fix.

Good to hear from you!

We've done more work on our files, including a lot of work implementing the Zeitgeist Player's Guide as an additional source. Since CodePlex is still up for now, do you want me to upload just the newer files, or do a new package of all the files we've worked on?

#21
Well, so Microsoft is shutting down Codeplex.

So what's the plan now? GitHub or another repository?

Nothing like this happened on any of my machines. Are you sure you completely cleaned out the 4e files before you re-downloaded them?
#23
Done and done.

We have several modified files with months worth of bug fixes that we've done, but the change documentation is minimal because we didn't expect to have anyone else working on 4e. What's the best way to get what we have to you?
#24
All right, I'm registered on Codeplex as charlieluce (same as my username on the Lone Wolf forum).
#25
Okay, I'm in. What do you need to know, and where do I go to learn how to upload our modified files with all the bug fixes?

Is your Dwarf a Thief? They don't get Daily attack powers, they get other things instead.

Herolab 4e Bugs / Re: Armor at Paragon and above

Thank you again! Since we've been concentrating on bug fixes in our group, I just went and put the new higher level armor variants into the ddi_armor.user file along with fixing the base levels.

By the way, I think you missed the base level of Studded Level in your file. I knew that Studded Leather was supposed to match Hide Armor, so it's fixed in our copy.

Sure, but it could be an artifact of other changes we've done to the files, and I agree that an extra error isn't that worrisome.

When I change the armor to the +8 version of Plate on my character, I see the extra error.

Wow, thank you!  :D  I think this is a keeper. One thing that I noticed was that when I was fixing my character that having the wrong level armor also gave me a "Multiple sets of armor equipped" error, but I certainly don't think that's a deal breaker.

Flagging the problem regardless of the order you build the armor in is a huge improvement. Thanks again!

I realize that your file does the job, I just think that it's confusing to use. Mind you, I haven't come up with another way to work it.  :P
