Title: Replacing pwBasicMel
Post by: MagicSN on December 26, 2012, 12:56:46 PM
Hi!

I tried to replace pwBasicMel to include support for the Intelligent Blademaster Feat. Now the system claimed when I pressed on "Test now!"that the thing I tried to replace would be "actively in use and I would need to delete all references before trying to replace it". Any idea?

It's because every character has that power automatically assigned.  When you replace a power on the currently loaded profile it prompts you that way.

Ok, so I guess modifying pwBasicMel is not possible asides from maybe directly replacing it in the XML file?

Okay, I solved the issue by editing thing_powers.dat directly.

Nah you should have been able to create a power that replaced the basic attack.  The prompt is ok because you have the power you're replacing.  It will always prompt you when that's the case.  For characters loaded after the files are compiled it should be set without any prompts.
